The clone troopers were bred at cloning facilities on the ocean planet Kamino to serve the Galactic Republic. Under the command of the Jedi Orderthey were the primary type of soldiers during the Clone Wars which takes its name from the troopers and fought against the Confederacy of Independent System's army of battle droids.

It is later revealed that the war was engineered by the Sith Lord Darth Sidioussecretly Chancellor Palpatine of the Republic, as part of his plan to take over the galaxy.

The clone army was created by the Kaminoans at the request of Sidious' apprentice and Separatist leader Count Dookuusing the bounty hunter Jango Fett as the template, and all clones were provided with inhibitor chips to make them obey Sidious' orders. At the end of the Clone Wars, Sidious executed Order 66branding all Jedi as traitors to the Republic and causing the clones to reluctantly betray and kill their Jedi Generals, effectively wiping out the Jedi Order.

After the conversion of the Republic into the Galactic Empire by Sidious, clone troopers became more and more uncommon as they were slowly replaced by stormtroopers. The only notable clone legion within the Empire was the st Legion, dubbed "Vader's Fist" due to being under the command of Darth Vaderand had prievously served under Vader's Jedi identity, Anakin Skywalker, during the Clone Wars.

During development of The Empire Strikes BackLucas initially conceived a planet of clones, which is why the Clone Wars was mentioned for the first time in the original Star Wars film. The clone trooper armor was designed to suggest an evolution into the stormtroopers of the original trilogy, and it incorporated features from both the armor of stormtroopers and Boba Fettrevealed in Attack of the Clones to be an unaltered clone of Jango.

The armored troopers in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are computer-generated images voiced by Temuera Morrisonwho played Jango. Unhelmeted clones were played by both Morrison and Taylor, who wore bodysuits to isolate their heads, and some clone troopers featured a blend of the actors' features. In the animated The Clone Wars film and television series, adult clone troopers are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker and child clone troopers are voiced by Logan. In writing The Empire Strikes BackLeigh Brackett 's first draft of the film initially developed Lando Calrissian as a clone from a planet of clones involved in the Clone Wars mentioned in A New Hope and were nearly made extinct by the war, [1] but this concept was not featured in the final film.

George Lucas later came up with the alternate concept of an army of clone shock troops from a remote planet used by the Republic in the war that followed. Lucas intended for the prequel trilogy to depict the evolution of the galaxy's fighting forces, and the clone troopers were the step after flawed battle droids. Clone troopers were designed to strongly suggest the army's evolution into the Empire's stormtrooper army. Concept artist Jay Shuster said of the armor design, "It follows the formula for a lot of the prequel trilogy.

Take something pre-conceived in the existing trilogy and de-generate it. Initial concept models implied that the first generation armor was thicker and bulkier than stormtrooper armor, and this characteristic was retained by the art department for Revenge of the Sith.

Lucas expressed a desire for individualized trooper armor from the beginning of art development for Revenge of the Sith. Several variations were largely dictated by environmental needs, but others were influenced of the Clone Wars animated series and the desert stormtroopers of A New Hope.

In Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sithall clone troopers are computer-generated images and are voiced by Temuera Morrisonwho played the clone template Jango Fett.

Taylor was filmed multiple times and composited to fill out crowded shots set in Tipoca City, and in some cases, such as for distant shots, he was entirely digital. Commander Cody, seen in armor without his helmet in Revenge of the Sithwas played by Morrison. He wore a blue bodysuit and only footage of his head was used for Cody; he held a stormtrooper helmet to approximate the digital clone trooper helmet Cody carries.

Some clone troopers were entirely digital and featured a digital blend of Morrison's and Taylor's facial features. The armor was match-animated to the actors' bodies.

The clone troopers are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker in the animated film The Clone Wars and its related animated television series of the same name. Baker attempted to give each clone trooper a unique voice, taking into account personality, age, and position within the unit, sometimes describing the clone in a single adjective and focusing on that descriptor for the voice work.

Each clone was voiced individually, with all the clone's lines for the episode recorded at one time before moving to another character, and the dialogue was edited together. Logan voiced the young clone troopers in seasons two and three of the television series. Baker reprises his role in the Rebels animated series.

He is told that Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas ordered the army on the Republic's behalf ten years prior; however, Sifo-Dyas' apparent death shortly before that timeframe leads the Jedi Order to doubt this.

The clone troopers are cloned from Jango Fett, a bounty hunter hired by the mysterious Tyranus, later revealed to be Sith lord Count Dooku. The clone troopers' genetics are altered so that they age at twice the normal rate and are more loyal and easier to command. However, Chancellor Palpatinesecretly the Sith lord Darth Sidious, orders the army to execute Order 66, turning all clones against the Jedi.

The clone troopers kill their Jedi commanders, and, together with a newly christened Darth Vader storm the Jedi Temple, burning it and killing the Jedi inside. In the animated TV show The Clone Warsthe Clone Troopers become the focus of some of the episodes to depict them to be more than simple soldiers and with individual personalities.Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This is also the same in the case of their homes and other buildings. Clone troopers in standard Phase I armor. With some design assistance from Jango Fettthe basic armor design became composed of twenty form-fitting plates of lightweight plastoid-alloy composite, sealed to a black bodysuit and weighed just under forty kilograms.

Because the armor would be used by an army of physically identical clones, only one size was needed. It loosely resembled Mandalorian shock trooper armoras a result of Jango's participation in its design. The austere sensibilities of Kaminoan society resulted in the blindingly pristine white state of each set of armor, although command units originally had stripes of different colors, depending on their rank yellow meaning commanderred meaning captainblue meaning lieutenantand green meaning sergeant.

However, as the Clone Wars progressed, the colorized markings began to identify the troopers with specific units. The helmets usually had fins on the top.

As the Clone Wars progressed, some troopers began to show individuality, customizing their armor to adapt to their needs with items such as visors, rangefinders, pauldrons, kamasenhanced communications gear, and jetpacks.

This particular suit was constructed for my year-old step-brother, using an action figure as reference. A few pieces are missing such as the hand guards, ab plate, and thermal detonator but the look is definitely conveyed. From start to finish, this project took about a month and-a-half to complete.

Anyway, on to the steps! Poster board or other stiff paper-For making templates Duct Tape! Gives a more "solid" look, but isn't entirely necessary.

Using an action figure or reference photos as a guide, take your poster board and tape multiple pieces to your model. Work out the shape of the pieces, cutting away and taping on where necessary. The chest is made in two pieces to give it more dimension. Using a marker, transfer your templates onto the foam and cardboard, and cut them out with a sharp ex-acto blade.

Use the heat gun to give the chest and back plates a curve. Simply heat up the piece, bend it into shape, and let it cool. Assemble the arm and thigh pieces with duct tape.

Be sure to seal the cut ends of the cardboard: this will help prevent tearing. Hot glue the chest pieces together, and glue the craft foam pieces to the cardboard. You'll also want to carve a groove down the center of the chest plate with the dremel. Also carve a groove following the blue line shown on the codpiece. If you choose to use the latex caulking, lay down a line along the seam, and smooth it with a paper towel. After that's done, cut some elastic straps and and glue the chest and back together at the shoulders and sides.

I didn't get many pictures of the strapping process, as I was wrapped up with college at the time, but I'll try to explain it as best I can. The shins not pictured are held together by three straps on each side.Phase I clone trooper armor was the standard issue armor of the Grand Army of the Republic 's clone troopers during the early portions of the Clone Wars.

It was later replaced by the Phase II armorwhich was better adapted to human anatomy. Created by Kaminoan armorsmiths for the clone troopers of the Galactic Republicthe Phase I armor consisted of twenty form-fitting plates of lightweight plastoid -alloy composite. Those plates were sealed to a black temperature control bodysuit via magnatomic gription panels. The bodysuit was also pressurized, offering temporary protection against the vacuum of space[1] and the body glove protected the clone from the extreme cold and heat.

Despite its advantages, the Phase I armor proved uncomfortable for the troopers to fit in, which was due to the Kaminoans' unfamiliarity with human ergonomics. Inside the Phase I helmet, a clone trooper a life support system, a tracking device for monitoring troop movements, and a display screen, which was built into the helmet's viewplate. The helmet also contained a comlinkand a comlink antenna was located in the helmet's crest.

In the DVD audio commentary for Star Wars: The Clone WarsDave Filoni noted that, while there were transmitters and receivers in the clone troopers' helmets, having the characters hit the buttons of and hold up wrist-mounted comlinks signaled to the viewer that the characters were speaking with each other.

Last minute changes to the hotel bookings were dealt with extremely efficiently.

Nordic Visitor were very helpful during the duration of the whole tour. I would like to say that Thordis was particularly helpful when I experienced difficulties after being caught in a snow blizzard and became trapped in my vehicle. The back up service an support was excellent and helped me greatly during a difficult time.

I really enjoyed it. It gave me a great taste of Iceland and took away all the hassle of searching for tours and accommodation which is important for me because I have limited free time since I work 80-100 hour weeks. It took me to places in Iceland I may not have considered if I booked on my own. Even though we travel to Europe at least a couple of times a year and do it indepently (find our own accomodation, etc. Iceland's reputation of being very expensive concerned us too.

We pinpointed the potential travel time as early September (2012), during the summer, we started to search more intensely. Tried to compare and understand the kinds and details of services offered by a number of different operators. Self-drive tours appealed to us since we would be still independent but especially accommodations would be arranged for us. Small towns with potentially limited accomodations and the distance in between did not give a comfort level for arranging our own accomodations.

Also the coverage and duration of their tours appealed to us. After exchanging a few e-mails with some questions, which were promptly answered, decided to phone them directly to expedite the process. The phone response was efficient (Manuella), friendly, informative and spoke to the quality of the service we may potentially be getting from this agency.

Due to being 6 hour behind Iceland (Western Canada) some of the phone calls coincided with the end of the work day in Iceland but Manuella did not mind and give as much info. Our choice was made and it was the FULL CIRCLE tour of Iceland.

We chose the budget accommodations and the economy car options. It was within our budget and was going to give a fairly good view of Iceland. We decided to fly to Reykjavik first and spend four days there. Manuella confirmed that upon our arrival, if we contact Nordic Visito orlandojlferreira, Netherlands Iceland Full Circle, August 2012 The perfect way to discover one of the last unspoiled countries in Europe.

For several years now Iceland has been on the top of our travelling plans.

We set ourselves quite an ambitious task, also considering that we were travelling with our 4 year old son. We decided to do the full circle tour around the island in just over 2 weeks and I have to say we were not at all disappointed. Not only did the island exceed our expectations, but also the quality of the organisation was excellent.

The choice of hotels was carefully made by our travel agent to ensure our son would have plenty to do, while not compromising on the highlights. All the activities were also well planned and the information provided by our travel agent was accurate, detailed and useful.

The agency was also very quick in action when required. Mid way through our stay we decided to prolong our trip and with the help of Nordic Visitor it was possible to arrange it, despite all the full booked hotels in the high season.

All in all, a great country to explore and great to have Nordic Visitor facilitating the process. My 7 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed a self drive family tour on the Ring Road right around Iceland in July 2012. We highly recommend the service provided by Nordic Visitor who provided excellent front end service by email as my son and I worked with their staff to construct a customized version of the trip.

Maria at the Reykjavik office provided quick and thorough responses to our many questions. She constructed a 12 day vacation that was a trip of a lifetime for us. She made sure that we stayed in kid friendly lodging that provided unique and interesting glimpses of Icelandic life in small guest houses and farm stays.
